Theme Migration & Child Theme Creation
Originally using the Maisha theme, Unitas International switched to the Enfold theme on my recommendation in 2019. At the same time, we did a complete overhaul of the site presentation and layout.
My recommendation of Enfold over Maisha was based on speed and complexity of self-maintenance. Enfold is a much more speed-orientated theme with a low complexity level for creating new content or maintaining current content.
Enfold is implemented through a child theme, which is customized.
On-Site SEO
Unitas International has a strong support base in an older, conservative generation which prefers physical contact and postal services. For this reason, not much attention has been given to online content or an online presence. The Unitas International website has been optimized for Local SEO through NAP markers. As its support shifts to a younger generation, the potential exists to connect with them through electronic means which have already been implemented.
Security
Unitas International makes use of various security measures. It uses Cloudflare as a CDN and WAF off-site, with WordFence security measures on-site. Security is further enhanced through OLS server-side security solutions, as well as my custom security settings.
Speed Optimization
Unitas International uses various speed optimization methods. These include Cloudflare as a CDN, OLS as a server, LSCWP optimization as well as browser preload and prefetch features.
GSC
Unitas International uses GSC information to ensure that the site is performing as expected.
