Luxurious Magazine is an online luxury lifestyle magazine established in 2010. Its founder and editor-in-chief, Paul Goldberg, takes great pride in the quality journalism represented on the site, as well as the unique relationships built with luxury brands over more than a decade.
When the best is what you are used to, second-best just will not do. Paul works tirelessly to produce the standard of work his readers are accustomed to, and expects his team to do the same.

Results
Using The Voux Magazine Theme, Luxurious Magazine required some customizations to the theme while ensuring that those customizations would not be lost when the main theme was updated.
A child theme was created with small modifications to the main theme which persist through main theme updates.
Customized Home Page
The home page of Luxurious Magazine was customized through a WordPress template file to include a loop that generates a random list of 6 archive articles older than 6 months from a particular category below the list of 12 latest articles.
Through our use of a caching plugin, this list is regenerated at a set interval when the cache is cleared, rather than at each visit, preserving server resources.
Archive articles that do not have a featured image will display the Luxurious Magazine logo instead, preserving the layout of the page.
Site Speed Optimization
The Voux is unfortunately not a speed optimized theme. We improved site speed through removing scripts from loading across the entire site, and disabling some default settings that increased loading times.
In addition, we used WP Rocket to cache resources and optimize delivery.
We further utilized Jetpack’s Site Accelerator to automatically optimize and deliver images on the site.
For fonts and other critical resources, we enabled browser preload and prefetch features to speed up delivery.
Security Improvement
While Luxurious Magazine already used Cloudflare as a CDN and WAF, security was improved through custom settings within Cloudflare, as well as the addition of the Wordfence Security Plugin.
Further custom improvements were made in both the WordPress setup as well as database.
On-Site SEO
The SEO changes made on the Luxurious Magazine website were many, including a complete restructuring of categories, installation and setup of the Rank Math SEO plugin, reviewing links etc. Performance is monitored through Google Search Console and server logs.
Continued Support
Since October 2019, my relationship with Luxurious Magazine continues through monitoring and evaluation of the site’s performance on a monthly basis. Adjustments are made and tested as required.
