Child Theme Update
With the advancement of PHP to version 7, Clever Copy faced the necessity to update the Genesis Framework theme Fernando for it to continue working.
I facilitated the upgrade, at the same time attending to some CSS issues that needed to be resolved, particularly relating to the mobile view.
Review Migration to HTTPS
Like many sites, Clever Copy migrated to HTTPS by installing a security certificate and using a plugin. This can cause problems with mixed content.
I did a database search and replace to change all URLs on the site with their HTTPS equivalent, after which I implemented a redirect in the .htaccess file. This allowed Clever Copy to disable the plugin previously used to force HTTPS, secure in the knowledge that the migration was performed properly.
Review Site Speed Settings
Hosted by SiteGround, Clever Copy has access to hosting optimizations provided to its clients. This is done through the SG Optimizer plugin, which integrates seamlessly with SiteGround’s hosting environment.
Installation and review of the plugin settings resulted in a 1.8 second reduction in the loading speed of the home page, without further optimization.

Since February 2020, Barbara makes use of my services when she has a batch of maintenance tasks together for the site.
